Our story

The beginning
Barrow Bar was imagined out of frustration. As a tradesman I found it difficult and annoying to lift and fit a wheelbarrow on my ute tray that already had toolboxes and a ladder rack. Trying to carry a wheelbarrow, brick saw, whacker and materials with limited space was frustrating and I hated having to lift my wheelbarrow and then strap it down. I also noticed this was a problem from the countless wheelbarrows I'd seen strapped to the roof of many vehicles while on the road.

Engineering
I had a basic prototype I took to an engineer friend I knew, who become my business partner and the one who brought Barrow Bar into existence. We tried a few different prototypes before we ended up with the Barrow Bar we have today, which we believe is superior in every way. It's heavy duty, built to last on any construction site and simple to use. Our goal was to make a simple product that was easy to use and only took seconds to attach and remove without having to lift or strap the wheelbarrow.

How to purchase
1. Check your wheelbarrow is compatible.
2. Add the Barrow Bar to your cart.
3. Make sure you have a long reach tow bar, it will give you the clearance you need from your wheelbarrow to your vehicle.
4. If your number plate is covered, you'll need to get an auxiliary plate just like a bike rack.
5. Barrow Bar must not exceed 60% of the wheelbase, or 3.7 metres, whichever is lesser. Check out our gallery for a better explanation.
